SR75 Suzuki and Nev Bradshaw achieved an outstanding 2nd place at the gruelling Skegness Beach Race, perhaps one of the toughest beach races on the planet!
Nev Bradshaw joined the team to ride the Suzuki RM-Z450 SR75 special build, which has been built specifically for beach racing.
Nev showed unbelievable experience and professionalism once again to show his class on a bike he hadn’t sat on until race day at Skegness. A clear demonstration of the high level of prep put in by the team, plus the reliability and comfort of the amazing Suzuki RM-Z450 in every situation.
Nev unfortunately got trapped behind the starting ‘gates’ as the marshal decided not to open one section of the gate at the start, leaving Nev at the back of the race. This really was the worst possible start, but we do like to rise to a challenge here at SR75. Nev literally raced the next two and a half hours with everything he had, fighting his way back through over one hundred and seventy riders.
While the leaders headed off into the distance in the early stages Nev showed incredible speed to cut through the pack in quite possibly the toughest conditions ever experienced at this race (you know its a tough day when beach racing superstar Todd Kellett doesn’t make the finish).
Strategic pit stops are key to these races and SR75 crew Tony and Luke were perfect in the pits with refuelling the bike and Nev.
To say Nev’s ride was something special is an understatement, it really cannot be described just how hard he had to work to make it to 2nd place on the day in the brutal conditions. This is already being touted as the toughest beach race on earth and we think the experts may be right!
As always a massive thanks to Suzuki GB and everyone who keeps us representing in our amazing sports.
