Supporting the sport by developing future MX talent and promoting the Suzuki RM-Z range in the British MX2 Championship
As a team we are working on a young rider development programme with Suzuki UK to help the sport grow. We are looking to have two of the UK’s top young riders racing the British MX2 Championship, a Suzuki coaching facility run by Carl Nunn, as well as a fun, amateur support programme which is very exciting at this time.
Working closely with SR75 Suzuki rider development coach, Carl Nunn, Cal showed great potential in the national youth championships with 5 race wins and countless podiums to his name. Cal was the first rider recruited for the SR75 Suzuki development programme.
2017 Open British Youth MX Championship – 1st Overall
2017 MXY2 British Motocross Championship– 5th Overall
After clinching the 2017 youth national championship win an amazing 11 wins, Howard was a clear candidate for the development team. An impressive debut season in the MXY2 championship secured him the remaining spot in the development team for 2018
Numerous rider training days were held outside of race weekends to help the development riders to perfect their technique and learn their race craft. Carl Nunn headed up the rider coaching for Cal and Howard.
First British Championship Points and Podium!
Both of the SR75 Suzuki development riders made fantastic progress throughout the 2018 season, from the first ride on a 250cc four-stroke, to entering their very first MX2 race, both riders went on to score points in the national championship and improved their performances as the season progressed. The team also scored it’s first MX2 podium with Howard in the National U21 championship. The team is hugely proud of the excellent results delivered in the first year of the development programme.
