AGEN in Southern France played host to the first round of the 5 race SX Tour series.

With temperatures in the 40’s this was going to prove to be a baptism of literal fire for Dylan in his first competitive outing with the team and his first ever SX Tour race.

An amazing track greeted the team and Dylan couldn’t wait to get fired up and on track in the boiling atmosphere.

Free training and qualifying would see Dylan settle in while trying to find lines and battle the heat of the day.
P2 in his group in free training
P4 in his group in qualifying

With the relentless heat a lot of riders were suffering and Dylan began to feel the effects as the day went on going into a form of heat stroke causing sickness etc…. We worked hard on getting Dylan’s body temperature down so he could function for what would be one of his toughest races in his life.

Semi final 1

Dylan’s first competitive gate drop and he made his way quickly into 5th then eventually 4th as the race went on and riders started to make mistakes. Dylan really dug deep for the entire semi final to secure the direct transfer to the final in the most difficult conditions he has encountered in his career.

Another solid first lap seen Dylan battle around 10th place but some strong moves in the whoops on his incredible RMZ250 and rider errors seen him move brilliantly into a very solid 5th place as the final developed into a battle in the still inferno temperatures even at almost midnight!

5th place finish and 5th in the SX2 Championship going into round 2 and we are in a very positive place.

Dylan Woodcock #275

“This was the toughest race I have done in my life, the heat, the intensity and the level was a great test today and I have dug deep. The guys worked hard to get me back into shape and my bike was absolutely perfect all day. I have learnt a lot and I can’t wait to get back out here with the team and race with these guys. The racing is tough but fully respectful from these guys and it has been awesome. I am stoked with 5th for the first race and I want to thank Geoff, my guy Tony and everyone involved in this team”

Geoff Walker Team Principal

“This was a wild one. Dylan has went to school today and he has been brilliant. His determination to make it happen in the Final was great and we now know he has more to give when fully functioning. That was a true pro performance to take 5th and I am personally full of admiration for this young man’s efforts and attitude. This guy simply loves racing Supercross and that makes me very happy.

Thanks to Tony for his hard work this weekend, to Suzuki GB for their incredible support, to HRS Jerome and to every one of our brilliant team sponsors involved in everything we do at home and abroad.”
