ACU British Rally Championship – Rounds 3 & 4 – The Beacons Rally, Wales

By Geoff Walker – Suzuki Ambassador

Survival mode ON! The Beacons Rally brought wild weather, gnarly Welsh forests and some real challenges for the SR75 Suzuki V-STROM 800DE as we tackled rounds 3 & 4 of the British Rally Championship in the stunning Brecon Beacons.

Day 1 – Pushing On Through

With an exhaustion bug trying to slow us down, it was always going to be a test of grit. Day 1 delivered three epic 30+ mile loops, each with two special tests, plus relentless rough terrain and rain lurking on the horizon. The 800DE was a dream under us, smashing through the toughest conditions yet on this mad development adventure. With steady riding and solid pace, we bagged an awesome P3 for the day – a massive result considering the circumstances!

Day 2 – Full Survival Mode

Day 2 turned into a wild test of spirit and stubbornness. Monsoon rain, deep mud, and a front mudguard system under test that just couldn’t cope – cue hilarious vision issues and a top speed drop from over 100mph on day 1’s fire roads to a crawling 20mph through the Welsh bogs. But quitting? Never an option. Laughs, swearing, and sheer grit got us through to a hard-earned P5 finish – true rally adventure style!

Eyes Forward

After 4 rounds we’re rolling with 3-3-3-5 results and fired up for the final push at the Isle of Man. The V-STROM 800DE keeps proving it’s more than ready for anything. This is what development, adventure, and the SR75 spirit is all about!

Massive respect to everyone who makes these crazy journeys possible. You’re all absolute legends!
